Hardware

Computer hardware is a physically touchable device. It includes the physical parts of a computer. such as the case with the central processing unit (CPU), random access memory (RAM), monitor, mouse, keyboard, computer data storage like HDD and SSD, graphic card, sound card, speakers, etc.

However, software is a completely different world than hardware. It is a set of instructions that are stored and run by hardware. Hardware means “hard” or rigid with respect to changes, whereas software is “soft” because it is easy to change.

Hardware is typically used by the software to execute any command or instruction. A combination of hardware and software makes a usable computing system. There are lots of different types of hardware available. Here are some of them:

CPU Case

The computer case provides mechanical support and protection for internal elements like the motherboard. It also gives protection to other elements. The large tower cases provide huge space for multiple disc drivers. While desktop cases provide less expansion room, Hobbyists may decorate the cases with coloured lights and other activities called “case modeling.”

Power Supply Unit

A power supply unit (PSU) converts alternating current (AC) power for the computer to direct current (DC). Laptops can be powered by an internal rechargeable battery. The PSU employs a switch-mode power supply, with power used in the SMPS’s regulator circuits.

Motherboard

The motherboard is the main component of a computer. It is also known as the “mother” of computers. The mainboard is also known as a “main board,” “circuit board,” etc. It is a board made up of integrated circuitry that connects other parts of the computer. Mainboards have various types of ports and slots. Expansion slots are used to connect extra cards like sound cards, graphics cards, network cards, etc. It has integrated IC chips in a computer that typically contain millions of tiny semiconductor field effect transistors.

Expansion Slot

An expansion card is a printed circuit board that can be inserted into an expansion slot of a computer. backplane to add an expansion bus, also known as a PCI express.

Storage Device

A storage device is any computing or digital medium used for storing, transferring, and extracting data files. It can hold information both temporarily and permanently. It can be an internal or external server for a computing device.
